Salix purpurea 'Light Dicks'
‘Light Dicks’ is a timeless cultivar that traces its roots back to England in the early 1900s. This variety is highly regarded among weavers, particularly for medium to fine basketry work. The fine and slender stems have a unique coloration with olive-green on the shady side and purplish on the sunny side. Once established and with annual coppicing, 'Light Dicks' produced an abundance of straight slender rods to a length of 6-8’ long.
